When I was little I used to fantasize about being able to send someone images and thoughts from your brain directly to theirs without the filter of language (or art). I still wish I could get someone to understand me completely without having to explain anything. Airdrop a thought before I've bothered to encode it with words for the purpose of transmission 🥲 Communication can be so tiring sometimes
Even with perfect communication you can't be sure you've truly been understood because of the fact that everyone has their own system of perception with a different frames of reference and internal dictionaries all formed by subjective experiences. Literally everyone is running custom internal software assigning meanings to your words and getting to understanding that is "close enough" but that is never *truly* verifiable. I think people study this ( #semiotics ) and the consensus is that true perfect understanding can never exist
It's nice that understand eachother well enough to build amazing technologies and meaningful relationships and function very well. But the fact that we can never be sure someone is interpreting us at the deepest level in the way that we intend, is quite a lonely thought
