i feel you're on the right path, doing what you need to do, enganging and commenting with others. since we don't have content algos to bring 'for you' content forward in most cases that means that the user is going to have to do it themselves.

i call this 'being your own algorithm'.

i've written about it from time to time, but the gist is that you need to engage and comment on other content and let those people know that you're here and that you want to be social. you need to be social again, not allowing algos and software to do the heavy lifting for you. it's more organic that way.

and yes, that can be frustrating, because software is supposed to make our lives easier, but also at the same time, it's somewhat refreshing too.
