Okay new idea. Instead of backing up to a vps via nextcloud or keeping a computer at a friend's house, I'm repurposing some of my many old unused phones and using syncthing and tailscale. Can sync to multiple phones and keep them basically anywhere. Smaller form factor than a laptop.
