I've only ever milled one cherry tree. It is my desk, my cutting board, my shelf, my bitaxe stand, the frame to my aunts memorial... it is the first batch of wood I've kiln dried. It's been cut up and spread around the country, some with family, some with friends.

This specific cherry tree had been standing dead for many years and would not have been sellable to the larger, more automated mills. Instead it would have been turned to mulch - returning it to the natural cycle of death and decay. Its beauty lost forever.
