Yeah it’s a step towards dystopia for sure. Sadly, we are on that path here in Japan already. We have a my number card that’s required most places to get govt. services and I would not be surprised if it’s rolled out for a CBDC in consumer capacity. This would be catastrophic for people. If that happens I’m outa here.
