Every time Jerome Powell speaks it reminds me of that kid in school who clearly didn’t read the book but has to give a book report in front of the class.
“It could be implied in the story that the author gives us the main character’s motivations, but is he in fact a reliable narrator? We really have to think about the author’s intentions and can we even take them at face value from the text? It does make one wonder. In conclusion, the characters and story are in fact just that, words on a page. We can only guess at what their true motivations are and speculate given our own perspectives as readers on our own journey.”
