I think you may have misunderstood the note. And I can articulate why I think so. 😉

There is a difference between being able to articulate your beliefs (in other words, to have sensical reasons for your beliefs) and being able to describe things mechanically.

If you can't ground your faith in reason, you have "faith alone", and you might believe nonsense.

If you can't ground your reason in faith, you will be come a relativist and think nonsense.

There is also a something called "common sense," or self evident truth, where faith and reason are both effortless, but that's pretty rare these days.

Modernity has replaced reasoning with description, faith with feelings and common sense with groupthink, so there is a lot of confusion about about all of this.

(Aristotle and St Thomas are very helpful, imo.)
