NIP-48

Proxy tags

NIP-48 defines tags for content that is mirrored or proxied from somewhere else. It helps clients understand where content came from and how to reference it.

NIP-48 is one of the small agreements that lets different Nostr apps understand the same kind of activity. In everyday terms, it is like agreeing on the shape of a form: once everyone uses the same form for proxy tags, people can move between apps without losing the meaning of what they created.
