NIP-59

Gift wrap

NIP-59 defines gift wraps, a way to wrap private events before sending them through relays. The relay can carry the package, but it should not be able to see the private event inside.

The analogy is close to sealed mail inside an outer envelope. The delivery system sees enough to move it along, while the real contents are protected for the intended recipient.
