I am approaching the problem from a very different perspective; instead of building a superapp I’m betting on making the protocol incredibly interoperable; the superapp route was always going to be possible but I think it ultimately undermines the whole point of nostr.
What I want is a flourishing ecosystem of apps that tightly integrate with each other without ever having to know of each other; there’s a reason I wrote NIP-31 (display unhandled events), NIP-89 (handle unknown events), NIP-90 (DVMs), NIP-60 (interoperable wallets)
I didn’t continue the work on Honeypot at the expense of Olas; I am finishing that work BECAUSE Olas, and Highlighter REQUIRE it.
Maybe I’m completely wrong but I think an extremely composable ecosystem is the only way that this can possibly ever work in the long run; much like outbox (or something like it) is required for nostr to work in the long run.

NIP-60 just defines how to _store_ the proofs; the cashu protocol already says how you can swap proofs intra-mint or pay LN invoices! There's no need for NIP-60 to reinvent that!

I built an 8a.nu replacement during my last vacation in Kalymnos; I haven’t released it yet but hopefully once I do and I’m back in Kalymnos I’ll end up onboarding a ton of climbers

I stopped developing nsecbunker because it had horrible centralizing tendencies which caught me off guard; I launched it as a POC but it started taking off in a way that would have been bad for nostr would it have continue to scale like that.
We are now getting a FROST-based bunker that solves the completely custodial, completely ruggable setup in favor of a collaborative-custody of private keys. The difference between a Coinbase and an Unchained or Casa: signers assist in getting you keys but they can't unilaterally sign on your behalf.
For the user it *looks* the same, it's as frictionless as Bluesky where the user can choose to ignore all key material, but in the back there is no one single party with access to the entire key which is a massive difference in terms of sovereignty.

Announcing Olas 0.1!
Olas is an Instagram-like client for iOS and Android.
Olas 0.1 provides a feed of videos (like those on flare/highlighter/zap.stream), picture events (kind:20, a new kind that no client had implemented yet) and the classical short notes with images attached we are all used to.
When publishing images, Olas uses the new kind:20, in a future release you’ll be able to control whether to publish as a short note so that it appears in microblogging clients too.

I think it depends a lot, some follow lists will have huge overlaps with your kind:3, some will have no overlap.
It would suck for me to have to re-follow all the people I’m interested in reading long-forms because that’s pretty much exactly my kind:3.

Yesterday we were playing around with ideas at @npub1s0v…rmq5 , we needed something to preserve anonymity for blossom users that communicate with DVMs.
📢 Introducing Onion-routing for event publishing
This introduces insane privacy guarantees, someone can publish an event and not even the relay they are publishing from can now it's them, nor their IP address.
Technically this works very similar to Lightning, the sender constructs a route of pubkeys and can bounce around the message through pubkeys willing to route for them.
The sender can include small ecash tokens inside each onion layer to pay for the routing.
No hop in the route until the last one knows what they are routing, who its coming from and the sender very explicitly defines through which relays it should hop.
(for the sake of debugging, I built a traceroute-like view, so the sender can see the event being bounced around the different relays; in real conditions a sender wouldn't use that to preserve privacy)
Think of this like tor, just faster.

I 100% understand your sentiment though, I used to think no screentime would be playing parenting in HARD mode on, but I'm now convinced SOME screentime is playing parenting in ULTRA HARD mode.

it's not the a tag, it's the encoding of the tag that is very non-standard (i.e. doesn't follow NIP-01); I'm guessing some relays might bark at the non-standard format
