Wait, I'm confused. I thought you were fetching all follows from last X hours into a map in cache and displaying that, with lazy-loading in the rendering step, when someone clicks on an entry.

I'd do it in two rounds. Open up streams for 3 seconds into a map. Aggregate by npub, count how many notes they published, filter out those over X times, refetch the rest for the remainder, with a 10-second timeout.

Everything you start with a script uses a generated key, but you can change it to your own.
You could use this to setup your own crawler-bot or republisher. It's quite simple, as you can use #nostr-php to develop the scripts.

Okay, #nostrbots 🤖 actually works, now. I created setup scripts for setting it up and run the tests. The scripts also give you an encrypted key, a local #orly 🦉 and a #jenkins .
My next step is to set my various bots up, again. 🙏🏻

I think we need more competition in specifications, to increase the quality. So, we agree there. The problem is that any Nostr voting system will quickly degrade, as it is a social network, which is automatically transformed into a popularity contest, rather than free and informed discourse about the subject under evaluation.
Nepotism is the ultimate centrifugal force.
Why are the specs so low quality?
They aren't. The specs you are looking at are low quality. You should ask yourself why you aren't looking at better specs.

We have over 140 different interfaces from over 50 countries, for billing, and they all say the same thing, but different. And they come in CSV, XML, JSON, RTF, PDF, etc.
I keep trying to talk up Nostr at work, to be honest, as it solves for most of our interoperability problems.
Even just agreeing to use json and having standardized keys and filters is awesome. You can't imagine what sort of data spaghetti people are fighting out there.

I used to think along these lines, but then I decided to Nostr even harder and just embrace the chaos. Everytime we tried to organize more formally, it immediately became the same hierarchy, as always. I work too hard on this stuff, and care too much, to just shut up and take orders.
There seem to be sort of Topical Pools forming, wherein developers interact and try to stay interoperable. But the Pools sometimes drift a bit away from and toward each other, and I think that's okay.
I actually don't see major interop problems on Nostr. Interop has been 10x worse, at every day job I've had, working on logistics interfaces, medical records, CAN bus systems, industrial message brokers, billing systems, and stuff.
So many of the devs coming from a Bitcoin background means they are used to smooth interfacing, but this is actually smooth interfacing, in the real world.

I took Nostrbots private, a ways back, as it was horribly broken. That's why I stopped publishing books.
I've now repaired and expanded the publishing facility. Still needs to have the Jenkins bot service reinstated, to get the daily hours reinstated, but this is useful enough to be worth a 2.0.

Yeah, we've seen that. They have the right general idea (use markup for publishing), but the structure is more static and you have to manually edit the HTML, which is annoying. That's the sort of thing we have, now, on GitCitadel.com, which is why the Webpage is degrading. We're turning it into a Newsroom. Mine is just the dry run.
If the structure is events, I can just change an "a" tag and write to a relay, and the publications and websites all update. I can do that in 30 seconds on my phone, using the Alexandria event publisher.
There's just nothing easier than Nostr.

Then you can edit the website by fiddling with the event tags.

I'm mostly fascinated by the content of an ultra-lite CMS based upon a scaffold of events, so that you can also view the website as a magazine in other apps.
Anything that can display 30040s can therefore also publish the information, and the website is the fully-featured stylish version with the doo-dads and CSS and stuff.
Means any website is also a magazine, which makes incredible sense.

Okay, it just uses a certificate signé par moi, so you might have to grant an exception, but it works.
It uses the following "big" relays:
TheForest 🌲, thecitadel, nostr.wine, nostr.land, nostr.sovbit.host, nostr21.com
I included wss://freelay.sovbit.host and wss://aggr.nostr.land in the search list.
It's a bit slow, at least until you fill your cache, but you won't miss anything from the nice paid relays.😊
