Everyone I know whose had a compromised account on the major social platforms never got it back no matter how hard they tried. Having a non-rotating key is important. if my key is compromised no bad actor can stop me from going in and posting "This account is compromised". they're complaining about something even X/Facebook/insta doesn't do well at. At least here once you find out you have a way Forward that doesn't include all your friends and family getting scammed.

Interesting. 10 of the 11 million possible trojan infected #android devices were from a Play store app, and the recommended solution is to only use Play store apps.
I suppose I don't think EVERYONE should use other sources, but maybe the number one recommended solution for people shouldn't be to just use the Play store to avoid trojans.
I think the concept of zap.store is more trustworthy as long as one knows to only install apps signed by trusted signers.
That leads me to think though @nprofile…4wvt is there a vetting process y'all go though before signing? Are there any ideas or things to come to make zap.store the most trusted?
I wonder if a per release badge could be applied to app releases that says something like "this release is verified clean by <auditor/antivirus team>"

Your right it does hurt discovery. I just like when I can control it. I limited everything to like 2 relays, then stopped seeing things in certain clients, added a couple back. Choosing relays still confuses me I suppose.

I was interested in the Fedi but then instances started banning each other. I fear those doing this attack may want us to go the the fediverse. There you're either in a echo-chamber of deep-state propaganda or your instance is blocked by many.
Not that I think all the instances are paid off, but they happen to be what elites want. To be block happy and divided. I want to see both sides.

On top of choosing my relays, which should stop spam, something I can configure like wot is great. Unfortunately I see much spam coming from filter.nostr.wine which was paid and doing good until today. :(
I think the concept of WOT is great but can't just stop at follows. One should be able to choose the WOT points that users must have, but also choose how many layers (follows of follows of follows) aggregate that score. WOT isn't the one solution but it's needed. and needs to be more configurable.

I like for something like this to be configurable. Like with wot I could mark it to 0 so if anyone with Relationship Status with me blocks the user, I don't see them. Or maybe I set to -1/3 to see more when I feel like it.
These bot attacks seem to be ever changing and many attacks aren't perminent. Right now I'd probably set it to 1 but maybe when it calms down i'd set it to -1.

I'd probably have had better luck if I did that! I just remember a couple years ago I couldn't get nginx to work for Nextcloud and I found Caddy which has been my buddy since. It's automated https by default.
Course I've had to do nginx for work more recently but systems gave me the trusted cert lol

I love the idea of @npub126n…e9ll, however thought of it as "mostly" useless to average individuals who aren't looking to tor everything.
While the new version is in developement to enable https external access to services using your domain, I found out a hack on how to do this in the meantime
Credit to remcoros on the @npub126n…e9ll for the original guide. Hopefully I made it a little more understandable to dumbos like me 😉
As a prerequisite, you'll need to know Caddy reverse proxy (or use another, but Caddy simplifies cert stuff for me), and you'll need to know basic CLI, like how to navigate the filesystem, and create/save a text file.
This example uses the FreeGPT service but I've tested with @npub1wyu…87ez, and nostr-rs-relay.
## Enable external access+HTTPS
1. pick a port and subdomain. add the entry to Caddy for automatic certificate/ssl reverse proxy:

2. Install the service from start9 marketplace or sideload.
3. Go to the services management page and go to the Wrapper Repository URL listed there.
4. Arriving in Github, look for the file `scripts/procedures/healthChecks.ts`
1. possibly line 4? You should see a line: `"web-ui": healthUtil.checkWebUrl("http://free-gpt.embassy:8080")`, the part you need is `free-gpt.embassy:8080` which is the service and port it's listening on.
5. Now SSH into the Start9 server and switch to the root user with `sudo -i`.
6. Switch to the "chrooted" environment with `/usr/lib/startos/scripts/chroot-and-upgrade`. You should see a bit of syncing.
7. Create and open your service file `vim /lib/systemd/system/socat.freegpt.service` and give it a sensible name.
8. Paste the below text and:
1. Modify the description
2. Modify the port number after "tcp-l" to match the port you chose in your CaddyFile.
3. Modify the text "free-gpt.embassy:8080" to match the text for your service found from Github.

12. That's it! if all's well you may reach your site on the clear-net with your domain.

The list of restaurants I go to have been decreasing steadily over the last few years. Fast food especially though. I don't know how people live on it. I can't stand the feeling when my foods wrong for the 3rd restaurant visit in a row.

In Amethyst I saw a dvm that popped up a charge for 10 sats to load. Seemed very smart contracty to me! For cool useful things like filtering all follows temporarily I'll fork it up.
Verifiable computations sounds cool but one good baby step would be for them to add more than 3-4 words describing what they do in the description. They're a mystery now.

Another spin. You posted the warning sign in agreement to the op as the content of their post was a warning (as some do on Facebook) and the clients posting as hearts used an icon that represents all reactions to be more friendly with users coming from Twitter.
Another thought maybe was there a simple like nip before the react nip? Maybe clients wanted to easily combine both nips together in the way Amethyst combines reports/reacts.

Recently started using Coracle and it's my fav for web. I prefer android though and Amethyst is my fav there. Yall are great thank you both for your work!
I'm by no means a pro but think if there's now a future universal reports kind we should move to it. A toggle in settings is always an option when there's differing opinions along with a warning on first use of the report function "heads up some clients will see this report as a reaction unless you disable in settings!"
On another silly note this reminds me of the debate between laptops having usb-a vs usb-c. Some are mad at laptop designers for not including the old a type. I'm mad at device creators for continuing to sell it. Quicker it stops being sold the quicker people won't need dongles!

I only recently found out of + being positive and - being negative recently by manually looking up how satellite.earth tagged up/downvotes in it's events. I knew about holding the zap button in amethyst to get to zap settings so out of curiosity, gave holding the react button a try. Lo and behold I can change the reaction options! And + was a heart/- was a thumbs down.
Back in the day reddit was my fav so hope such compatibility for voting can be somewhat unified in a few nostr clients.
Though till learning of the - reaction, I considered ALL reactions to be positive. After all some dvms will no doubt provided content based on all activity a post gets and you wouldn't help someone providing bad content get more views.

A bot that replied from each relay when requested could make sense but this replying to every note.
I can't help but to think calling it speech is like calling a ddos attack legitimate use of a service.
It will be lynched and that is the expected outcome. I'd be surprised to hear many relay operators find it helpful.

I feel best the closest to the three B's I get. Don't think I have electrolyte issues but I did notice Dr Berry now shills an electrolyte drink 😏 I think "natural" may generally be good but one hears of a discovery of cavemen eating some plant then it's loaded in the cart every stop at the grocer.
Next thing you know fiends like me won't stop eating and then symptoms return. I'm just glad I found my way to a new life by giving it a hard try.

I agree, see a doctor. Don't gett off their medication until your nutrition has got your tests back in order and they advise you can get off. However surprised they may be it was due to cutting out plants. They're learning too. The truths been slow to grow but getting there. I saw doctors but glad I came acrossed the nutrition that works without endless doctor bills going nowhere. I've heard of these things about fiber and other "truths" backed by big food.
I was skeptical at first. After all the Internet is a cesspool of lies and small corners of truth. I was experienced with dietary discipline as I'd already cut out processed foods but I had to go further.
For anyone not experiencing medical issues, or those who fixed them by a doctors visit without being roped into lifelong bills, this may not be needed. However for you recommend against my cure and recommend what I now know would be poisonous for me... Discerning, which was my point in the beginning. People need the information that works. Not what makes companies money.
I did have allergies... Now I don't. You don't believe me, I get it. Maybe I wouldn't have either. It took a family member a while to convince me to try.

Could you explain why 50 buck node cost increase could be more worrying than transaction cost? Who in said countries would run a node on a chain they can't afford to use?
I get the importance but the balance of priorities don't make sense to me. I'd think if poorer people were running nodes more than rich we might already have bigger blocks.

15 years storage has gotten cheaper, but Bitcoin holds more transactions and the blocks still the same.
If they can afford these transaction fees wouldn't they be able to afford storage?
Everytime I think about this my mind always ends up at they just don't see base layer being usable by everyone as a priority. But then I'm confused because they say all other blockchains people could use are shit.
LN still requires base layer transactions and always will especially when your balance is lower and self custody on a phone.

I agree but I think their issue is with node operating costs. There may be an incentive issue? Those that care about transaction fees just don't use Bitcoin and of course won't or can't afford to run a node anyways so nothing changes.

I sure did have medical reasons. I was glad when I learned to address them with food than pills.
Sounds like we're mostly in agreement though. Obviously I can't say we haven't always eaten plants and I don't think of carnivore as a hate for plants.
I think I do disagree though that one on carnivore is "missing out". There's a lot of nutrients to cover in this setting but let's just say we know our ancestors have lived through the periods of no farming and little plant to gather most of the year while surviving the harshest of climate.
Recommend checking out Dr ken Berry's videos on vegetables. They're great for my test buds! But have reasons to be limited.

Understood and I'm not in strict meet camp. Most people I know refer to that as the lion diet. I went strict and slowly reintroduced foods but still keep them limited.
While a true Paleo is sensible (I think most carnivores agree), I think the way it's often conveyed or interpreted includes a higher amount of that food that would have been consumed only a few months out of the year. People don't stumble across a few nuts or fruit in the wild now days they keep a bowl full.
Honestly I think that's the reason carnivore has gained traction. People tried Paleo as it's usually directed but had to reduce even more. Maybe that diet shouldn't be called carnivore but it's just the way I and those I know learned of it.

My hot take is that so many people just don't know that so many of their I'll symptoms can be deleted from their lives with carnivore. I spent my whole life with crazy environment allergies, kanker sores and back pain for my adult life. after carnivore? no more pain killers or daily antihistamines. my take is that docs don't even tell people about this stuff because they're convinced there's no way these "healthy" plants are bad for a lot of people. my symptoms are mine but MOST people are struggling and either gave up and deal or take pills with side affects. And they're being told it's normal to have their diseases. "it happens"
even so. those that make it into a religion aren't helping anyone. Some do plants fine. some don't but don't know the plants are the cause.
Some points though I think are relevant
- we're not cows. not even closely related.
- we have smart brains and thumbs so it makes some sense that we didn't evolve carnivore teeth more seen in carnivore animals. I don't rip my meat straight from the animal with them.
- remember we don't see farming tools from over 10000 years ago. ice age ended 14000 years ago (Where gathering was limited to a couple months of the year). evedance of homogeneous (our) species goes back hundreds of thousands of years. I don't think we're evolving fast enough for this big of change in diet.
- I'd believe it ideal that anyone suffering a disease not caused by injury at leased know about it. 30 days all it takes. they can slowly reintroduce plants one at a time to see what should be permanently gone.
- if we can agree on one thing. let it be that vegetable and seed oils are poison. Invented (not found naturally) only about 100 years ago and their growing use correlates well with heart and many other diseases.

tbh just knowing the truth about nutrition is enough to make massive changes on ones health with direct affect on one's symptoms. even with some trade-offs. Symptoms are the reason most will change their diet and stick to it. I think calling them poison camps may be what people are finding extreme.

Not too many PC game platforms out there with their own operating system. I particularly like using my gaming rig without keyboard and mouse and they have the best UI for that.
