In 2002 I was a young kid with maybe the best teacher I ever had, but didn’t get much of what he offered. It’s because every parent and other teacher discredited him as weird and not to be taken seriously. They didn’t like the effect he had on kids. He made you question what you thought you knew, even at a young age. What was wrong with him? He was well read, open minded, and didn’t put people on a pedestal. He was hands on and showed us how to discover the world, not make us memorize someone else’s words about it. Now the torch is ours to help others, even if we get called weird.

Bullets can be weird but when I saw the video at the time, I was very confused about how the press/FBI concluded what they did.
I realized almost anything anyone has to reference is the movies unless they hunt or something similar.
Look up “spine a deer”. Thats what we used to call it. It’s unpleasant but informative

This is the most interesting interaction I’ve seen in a while. I have two opposing voices in my mind. One is romantic, one is skeptical. I am both at the same time. I haven’t said this anywhere yet, but I’ve burned through my money and time lately to build a business focused on Nostr and capturing the hope of building heaven on earth. I enjoy fighting for a new world, but I also think it is in vain. I think we are too weak and unwilling to make the sacrifices necessary for success, collectively.

Why does that even matter? It divides a group that mainly don’t like the same thing for similar reasons. When core represents the opposition by straw manning them, it results in the opposition spending energy categorizing, self identifying, explaining, etc. humans don’t like to be misunderstood. If someone becomes concerned with that, it’s a sign of weakening.
Core doesn’t explain themselves, they just throw hand grenades blindly into rooms. In that room, everyone can scramble or agree to throw them back.
I met a dev the other day that was confused why bitcoin mechanic liked his post about running working on Knobs (with a B). He was confused because he was doing it to poke fun at knots. I told him if he understood mechanics intentions, it would make perfect sense. Knots isn’t about Knots. It’s opposition to core. Knobs is also opposition to core, technically.
It’s best to speak to the greatest common denominator. Those are the people who can help. Those people know knots, knobs, and notcore30 are all different, but they are the same in why they have come to exist in a way.
Tl;dr
Spend energy making the change, not explaining it.

Knots default settings do not allow you to attach enough data to a bitcoin transaction to attach a picture larger than 16 pixels to it.

core is moving toward removing default limits such that you could attach images and or low->med quality videos to a bitcoin transaction with relative ease.
people are concerned about making this easy because they think people will put sick stuff on the blockchain. they would prefer to make this as difficult as possible, even though it is not entirely unstoppable.

This is a good analogy. Even though there is still a way to configure these settings in 30, it has taken it “off the menu”. A restaurant can cook you something off menu, but there are added frictions relative to what’s just on the menu. The hard line will be when the restaurant no longer stocks the raw ingredients required for substitutions and special requests. Core is planning to continue deprecating certain configurations to the point that the average user is unable to manipulate settings to their liking.
We don’t make cheeseburgers here anymore, but you can still have a cheeseburger. Just go buy the ingredients, set up a kitchen, learn to cook, and make it for yourself. OR, go to another restaurant.
Knots is just a different restaurant.
