0xchat lite iOS v0.1.0-build 11 is out!

This version now supports interoperability with #bitchat #bitch@. Just type ‘bitchat’ or ‘bitch@’ when joining a circle to enter bitch mode — allowing you to send and receive messages in default channel with the bitchat app. (For now, only default channel are supported; Android and DM support are coming soon!)
It also fixes some bugs related to joining circles, and adds relay shortcut support:

MLS stores key packages on the local device, so for state sharing, we need to migrate this part. The remaining events can be synced via relays. I also agree with you — having a private relay is a better choice, especially one relay per group. This is also a key design focus for me in 0xchat lite.

You’re right, the interoperability means you can communicate in the same group between Whitenoise and 0xChat, but the MLS state on different devices and clients is stored locally and can’t sync.
However, maybe in the future, we could enable transferring that state to other clients or devices in a secure way, such as encrypting it and transferring it via Bluetooth or local network.

Now, when creating a group in 0xChat, you can choose MLS encrypted group chat. It now supports adding and removing group members, as well as leaving the group. However, modifying group details is not yet supported.
This implement follows NIP-EE (https://github.com/nostr-protocol/nips/blob/001c516f7294308143515a494a35213fc45978df/EE.md).

Pulling group messages from multiple relays is technically fine. But can we really say these relays represent the same group? For example, relay1 might show 3 members, relay2 has 4, and relay3 might already consider the group disbanded. In this case, the group messages you receive are unreliable.

Unlike notes, group messages rely on group management, and keeping group state in sync across multiple relays is very difficult — if not impossible.

Currently, it's not supported. Personally, I prefer using a single relay for group chats. The main advantage is message stability and consistency.
The downside is the single point of failure — but I believe this can be addressed by implementing a backup and migration mechanism to move the chat history to a new relay if needed.
