The AppVerifier TOFU UX is subpar in my opinion (better than PGP though).
Zapstore aims to improve on this, add malware/privacy checks, reproducibility attestations and more. As well as discovery and monetization - two big issues for open source developers in particular.

They are repeaters, they listen to messages from some people and send them to many others. Sometimes they store these messages for later broadcasting.
Anyone can run these repeaters, and many do, that is why nostr messages are so difficult -practically impossible- to stop.

Shill me a Linux laptop comparable to a Mac M4.
Processor must be ARM or otherwise as silent as a Mac. Should not feel cheap, especially not keyboard and trackpad.
Willing to pay 50% more than an M4 for comparable performance and battery life.
