Had a good time at the Artz-I Islamic Art Gallery in Bradford last week.
An event organised by Emerald Network and Rooful Ali.
So much history, culture and heritage contained within art, something we need to focus on in this AI age.
Had a really good conversation with the owners, so many wonderful initiatives to have when it comes to art and artists.

So we did get the podcast done last night, and I had a great time meeting Ranjha Saab.
In this segment I talk a little about leaving the UK and moving to Saudi, as it’s a frequent topic.
I have a lot of love and respect for what’s happening in Saudi, the energy, the vibe, the buzz, the ambition, the opportunity…
…it’s brilliant.
BUT, and this is a huge but, if you think it’s going to be easy, that you’re just going to roll up over there and your life is going to become easy you’re in for a rude awakening.
And this is the major problem I see with people wanting to leave the UK.
The intention isn’t really to go, be uncomfortable, get stuck in with the graft, work really hard and build a new life.
It’s more like, things are getting bad here, let me go find an easier and more comfortable life somewhere else.
Wrong intention.
Secondly, the clip doesn’t quite capture it, but I mention our parents generation made HUGE sacrifices to build a life for our generation in the UK.
The challenges we face today, imo, are NOTHING compared to what they faced.
To take what they provided through their sacrifices, and effectively throw it away because things are getting a little rocky has an element of ungratefulness for me.
If things are in a decline, which they are, is the response to move or try to do something about it?!
Whatever you decide is a personal choice and a personal matter, therefore not wrong.
So if you want to move, by all means move, but go with the intention that you are going to have to work hard and graft…
…not, it’s going to be easy and comfortable.

Batley is becoming the next Wimmiee Road 😂
The food scene has bought Batley back to life.
Banks and traditional shops like Woolworths used to fill the high street, and tbh it was really good and vibrant back then.
Market conditions changed, going online had a huge impact on brick and mortar - most things closed down.
Like a lot of towns, it started to become dry - but then the food scene kick-started its resurgence.
Now there are so many choices - too many according to some people.
Whilst that is good, there are now starting to become too many SIMILAR choices, albeit variety is now starting to be added.
Then next step up, however, is creating more, different types of businesses.
No point having a lot of food places if there isn’t enough footfall from people working.
Just some of the things Batley town centre (or the surrounding) could do with more of:
- Professional service firms (legal, accounts, wealth, brokers etc)
- Marketing companies
- High end podcast / content / creative studio
- Gaming centre
- Co-working space
- Tech & IT services
- Training & education hubs
- Health & wellbeing services (private clinics)
- Recruitment & talent agencies
- Property & real-estate services
- Event, culture & experience spaces
- VC / investment hub
Even a proper high-class bed showroom factory in Dewsbury was a great idea suggested by Omar Bhamji.
Dewsbury is the bed factory capital of the UK - where’s the landmark piece to attract the international community to visit?!
If food brings people in…
…businesses keep them there.
Careers, companies and capital are what create a vibrant future.
On 30 January, we don’t just have 2 very high level entrepreneurial speakers coming…

Content is like seeds.
I posted about this the other day: you just have to keep planting, rather than seeing content as a transaction.
Eventually they’ll sprout in the future.
Prime example was the 2 DM exchange I had with Ranjha Saab on TikTok.
We swapped numbers, I got invited to his house - which is just crazy when you consider it was a couple of DMs.
But the truth is, it wasn’t. It was months of seeds being planted with the consistent content I saw from him.
I already feel like I know, like and trust him, and that we’re going to get along well based off of seeing that content.
Which is the whole point of playing the long game, and being yourself online.
It becomes infinitely easier to connect with people.
Looking forward to recording this kick-ass podcast tomorrow 💪🏽

Thanks for the message. I actually agree with that.
I think that line doesn’t have the context in this post. It was more for those in my community and those saying “there’s no opportunities out there”
But they’re not going out, speaking to people, putting out content - doing nothing. That message was for those people, if you want opportunities to come to you, you need to make effort to get out there and get known.
If you already know what you’re doing, and have picked a path, then 💯- go all in on that and optimise.

Went to sleep at 9.30ish Friday night, got out of bed at 9.30ish Saturday morning - 12 hours!
That’s my body telling me I’m tired.
And that I need to make some changes.
Deep down I’m still an introvert: social engagements drain my energy.
Doing events and workshops is one thing.
Attending many more is another.
Trying to respond to every DM, email, comment, request for calls, exploratory meet-ups…
…on top of the increased sales pitches, charity/shout-out/introduction requests, and just bizarre messages across multiple platforms is the real killer.
The opportunities that have presented themselves have been wild.
But being dragged from one thing to another is actually counter-productive; and a mistake I tell others to avoid - so I’m being a bit of a hypocrite too.
However, I don’t ever want to hear anyone in the UK say there are no opportunities out there - it just isn’t true.
The hard part is picking the right one for you, and going after it.
The uncomfortable part, which I’m seeing many are avoiding, is putting yourself out there consistently enough to attract these opportunities.
It’s time consuming. And it’s draining. And if you’re not used to it, it takes you far out of your comfort zone.
Anyhow, the effort is worth it.
And the next night that will present many more opportunities is coming.

I’m going to be sharing the stage with two absolute tanks in January iA…
…my current average of gym 3x a week might not be enough to stop me looking like a dweeb in comparison 😂
Jokes aside, it’s been a struggle trying to maintain a gym routine whilst parenting 3 kids and building an unusual project which has so many moving parts to it.
Only now about 3 months later am I starting to feel good.
They say starting is the hardest part, which just isn’t true.
Starting is easy.
Carrying on when you’re not seeing or feeling the results is the hard part.
This especially applies to building a project, business or side hustle.
So many get excited at the start, jump in, then stall when realising how hard and slow it is - espesh when you can’t tangibly see the progress being made
That’s just the price of admission - so keep going.

Highlights of the London trip this weekend.
I wanted to do a road trip travel-vlog style documentary - but the lads were having nothing of it 😂
Managed to sneak in these tid bits here and there.
It was packed with so much more, naturally all the best parts were off camera.
Just an overnight stay, but felt much longer considering all we got through.
London might as well be another country compared to the Norff. But it’s got a vibe of its own.
They tell us it’s dangerous. We were walking around at 1am no issues. Even saw a hijabi lady walking out by herself that late!
Not to say there aren’t issues, but like I have been saying for a while - the UK is a great place and not as bad as being made out.
When you connect with the right people, you feel the difference.
Spending time with these gents was great, but so was meeting all the new people as well - so many positives and so many opportunities in the UK.
Make an effort to genuinely be positive, you’ll be surprised how positive things begin to surround you.

Nasar Hussain for the invitation, which doesn’t even happen without the amazing work that was done behind the scenes for the last decade culminating in the charitable project in Balochistan.
Sadaat Khan for providing exemplary company, and who has a phenomenal project of his own.
Wajid Arif and his company Luxe Executive Travel for an unforgettable experience of cruising around London city in a Rolls Royce Ghost.
Two young guns and future stars Aydin Hussain & Zain Yaqub who soldiered through with youthful energy.
And of course Islamic Relief UK for putting together an amazing event.
To end with some words of wisdom from Dr Hany, especially if you’re feeling despondent and dead:

Everyone talks about their passion and mission when it comes to building their brands and projects.
But tbh it does often feel forced and fake.
Not with Saadat Khan though.

You can feel it’s in his soul to build this, and iA this is the reason why it will be even more successful than where it’s at today.

Attended my first ever Black Tie event yesterday (yes really).
Wasn’t sure what to expect but ended up having a great time.
Huge about to Shahrukh Ali and Moinul Islam, not only for the invitation, but looking after me really well all evening.
These guys at Ashrock Estates are doing some phenomenal work, with big things to come too iA.
Had a brilliant convo throughout the evening, and connected on a deeper level.
I’ve been seeing Shahrukh on social media; who also came to the first event we did at Batley Library.
But yesterday was the first time really sitting down and speaking - and there were just so many shared values.
They also kindly offered to support the Batley Entrepreneurship Club with the plans for next year.
As for the event itself, was really insightful and inspiring to see the work that the Parklane Foundation are doing.
Met some amazing people, and just further cements the idea that there is so much opportunity and so much good happening in the Northern part of the UK.

Man started by sh** posting on Twitter.
Had an alter-ego / pseudonym for his rap career.
And then went on to become Mayor of New York due to his social media activity.
The key thing to look at here is the date.
5-15 years of social media activity.
Some of you try social media for a few weeks/months, get no traction and give up.
Social media, used correctly, will 💯 change the trajectory of your life if you intend it to….
…but you have to think in terms of YEARS, not months.
Too many have been influenced by the “make money quickly” crowd.
You have to understand the marketing principle that gets taught a lot:
“Make it sound so easy and so quick that anybody can do it; because if you make it sound hard, nobody will buy”
So all of these online courses and programmes get sold using this “tactic”
People then sign-on, realise it’s hard and takes time, give up - and that’s why so many courses are considered scams.
This is also the reason why we need better role models stepping forward, creating content, and providing realistic insight on what it really takes:
- Hard-work
- Discipline
- Time!
Expectations need to be realigned so people starting their side-hustles, projects, businesses understand it is going to take a lot of time.
The first part, the hardest part, is getting attention and getting known…
…which starts with creating content for a consistent period.
Not every post needs to be business-educational - inject your personality, lifestyle, hobbies and interests.
Be you first.
Build your skillset.
Build your network.
And then go from there.

You are NOT just an industry expert. You are a MEDIA company as well.
This has been one of my most repeated phrases over the last couple of years.
Whomever I speak to, I say this to; whatever the industry:

- finance
- fitness
- medical
- food

The content game was flawless. He didn't just function as a politician, he functioned as a media company.
And it was the content and media that got him the win.
Yet so many industry experts refuse to put out their own media and content; or just dabble in it.
You can't do that anymore. You need to set aside time and resources, as if it is a central pillar to your business, profession or project, towards media and content creation.
This isn't just for businesses. It's for EVERYONE. Standing out to get a better job in today's market is less CV and more MEDIA.
Too many of you are still shackled by shyness, discomfort on camera, afraid of speaking in public...

6 years ago I started my journey of overcoming my fear of speaking.
Only people with real shyness, social anxiety and a crippling fear of public speaking will truly understand.
Every opportunity I got prior to that, I ran a mile.
At one point, albeit long ago, it was so bad I just could not make routine appointment calls to the doctors etc.
But not being able to speak is a prison, espesh in a corporate career or when you’re building your own projects
When I left the legal world, my first attempts were to make money WITHOUT having to speak to anyone.
It just doesn’t work. Or it didn’t for me.
And so being able to speak confidently became a priority.
Started with:
- writing content and blogs
- before moving into making videos
- followed by podcasting
- to now speaking at events
When I made that video in 2019, I was just about starting the video journey. Those that were there saw it from day one.
6 years is a long time to get in front of 100+ people, but better late than never. 1000+ is the next step up.
However…I see so many trying to build things in the shadows because they won’t confront their fear of speaking.
Take it from me, it’s an even bigger uphill battle. It will in fact be easier to just start yapping away.

2 days later and I’m still tired! Events take a lot of energy out of you.
Adrenaline’s died down, can now constructively assess the event.
There’s a high and dopamine overload on the actual night.
Then there’s a post-event come down the following day.
Today’s just recovery and recharge.
Although got in a gym session, as the Friday one was missed doing the final event prep.
Been hitting the gym 3x a week for 6 weeks on the trot. Only got in 2 sessions this week. 😒
So much editing to do.
So much content in the arsenal now, including this attached image.
Just about finding the time to stitch it altogether.
Next week I’m in Manchester a lot - got my eldest booked in for football training camp.
Won’t have much time to edit, as I’m a desktop guy and everything’s on there.
But will have to find a way to be productive.

Batleh Town Hall was rockin' last night 💥
So happy with how the Batley Entrepreneurship Club Official Network Launch event turned out, and the feedback received so far.
The energy was electric.
The numbers came in, with around 125-135 attendees on the night 💪🏽
Guests arrived from as far as Birmingham, Manchester, Preston, Leeds, Bradford, Huddersfield, as well as plenty of locals.
Cannot thank the guest speakers, Omar Bhamji & Nasar Hussain enough.
Not something they've done before, however they were absolutely fabulous & knocked it out of the park.
Complete naturals on stage, and phenomenal role models for the community. So many were inspired by their stories & insights.
Pleasantly surprised to learn that another role-model, Cas Majid, is in fact originally a local as well! May just be a special guest speaker soon...

Batley, and the UK in general, is locked in the captiviteh of negativiteh.

The UK in general, it seems, isn’t open to entrepreneurial endeavours.

I have many childhood memories of weddings happening at this place…
…you know the good ol’ days where there’d just be a table with a sheet of paper and a conveyor belt of food would get splashed.
Them “tikkehh” (chicken tika botis) back then were something else.
The simplicity of it all meant you actually connected with people, the community just felt tighter
These days the weddings are something you’d see in MTV-cribzzz (don’t know if that still exists?! 😂)

Naaaah, this can’t be right, they dint spend that much on a logo design surely?!
There will be other elements involved but that is still a staggering figure.
If that logo is half a mil, then the Batley Entrepreneurship Club logo is half a tril 😂
Here’s a free mini course on how I created a half a tril logo:
- Got iconic image of Batley from Google
- Added it to ChatGPT asking for a variation of it
- Took ChatGPTs design to Canva
- Changed the border and colours
- Added font and text
Voila, done and dusted.
On a more seeeryus note, everyone now has access to tools that will allow them to create so much more.
I don’t like the term “solopreneur” - but 1-person businesses can legit function like small teams.
I expect to see the rise of many more 1-person businesses in the next decade.
These may not necessarily be 7 figure businesses.
But it will be the skilled employee fed up of the shackles of a typical 9-5 that decides to do their own thing making £35k-£100k on their own timeline.
Where companies need to adapt is to accommodate more of these self-employed roles under their banner/brand - or risk losing their best workers and try to make it work with mediocre ones.
BEC is being developed to accommodate this transition.

Thanks for the explanation. Yeah it’s a bit of a learning curve, but so far the user experience is better than a lot of the other platforms.
Just does seem very versatile.
Great to know how your podcast has been better on here. Been a while since I did a podcast episode, but I may just upload some of my precious to see how they’re getting along.
Are you posting full and clips? Does overwhelming the feed with many clips as possible work on here or would that tire out the audience?

Saw someone say they made money on NOSTR with their podcast straight away, despite not on the traditional platforms.
Still learning to configure NOSTR, I’ve been using it more like Twitter of old.
But I take it, this is more of a mix of everything…ie Twitter, TikTok, Insta, YouTube etc
Basically you can use it how you want .
But from an audience perspective, are people on here that much they’d watch entire podcasts here?
How are most of you treating NOSTR compared to the normal SM platforms?

Depends what your intentions are, but if you’re posting anything online you’re doing it to get some attention. Otherwise just keep a private diary.
I don’t think attention is bad per se, unless you get hooked on it and start debasing yourself or spamming for it.
But this is more about free speech and manipulation; NOSTR helps with not being censored or banned if you say something someone doesn’t like

Kids had a fantastic day yesterday at the Mental Health & Confidence Workshop in Batley yesterday.
Huge shout out to Coach Bilal who through his new Goalacticos initiative put this together at the Purge Boxing Academy.
Everyone had a great time and this was a huge success.
Inspiration coming from rugby player turned boxer Brandon Pickup, and future boxing superstar (who’s already making waves as a champion at 14) Azaan Hussain.
Excellent support from the rest of the team, including Jerome Wilson.
With special guest appearance from TikTok/Insta stars Shab & Eisa who equally are doing phenomenal work for the Down Syndrome community.
I’ve been struggling to get my 6 year old passionate about anything…
…he hasn’t put his (older brother’s) boxing gloves down since the workshop.
The individual attention he got from Brandon and Azaan in particular did wonders for his confidence and happiness, as did knocking me out in the ring 😂

Batley Entrepreneurship Club is now publicly funded!
After months of work, publicly and privately, this is a great milestone for the Club further cementing its credibility as an emerging regional grass-roots movement.
Going through any funding round, private or public, comes with many hurdles and challenges - to be one of the few selected from many is a huge achievement.
Big shout out to the West Yorkshire Combined Authority for this grant and trust placed into BEC. Will share more details in future content.
Big 12 months ahead to put in the work required to fulfil the milestones of this grant funding.

That as well: mainstream social media will now become like main stream news. One sided propaganda to influence the masses whilst they come down on free speech and alternative narratives.
But these companies are also likely to fight amongst themselves for supremacy too. Ie Zuck vs Altman, and even now Elons going after Netflix. Won’t surprise me if someone goes after the social media companies too

Ah right, makes sense. I’m sure nostr has been around a couple years now, but still a long way to go. It will get better as more and more join, and the needs start to increase
