GM. Went on a Primal onboarding spree last night.
Incredible having a wallet straight out of the box and people got to feel the zap magic/ Bitcoin Venmo right away.
I remain convinced that Primal & Nostr apps are the most friendly first touch for Bitcoin.

We do implement web of trust features underth hood. Has spam gotten worse for you? I saw a new wave of reply bots. Probably made it through because a couple people followed them.
I put you on a follow list. Primal is changing our onboarding in a couple days. People who will follow you from that list will be more intentional (i hope) going forwards.

I remember when the boys and I first found crypto.
All of us went to Christian university and one of our first discussions was about the potential of crypto to be mark of the beast tech.
Quite some time down the rabbit hole later, it’s quite clear to me that it has the potential to be the opposite. Not a savior but just a tool for us to remain sovereign.

and yes, our current dms have not been optimized. you can see who talked to who, but not what has been said. dms are not the highest priority for us at the moment.

While the devs are doing big brain stuff, I'm having so much fun messing around "prototyping" little changes in Primal.
Here's a better follow pack style onboarding similar to Yakihonne. Much more obvious that you have to make the choice to follow people unlike now. The amount of complaints we've gotten about people autofollowing accounts is high and warranted.
And then follow packs in profile are super needed in every client imo. When following._ implements log in with nip-46, it'd be a pretty smooth flow to create follow packs from the phone for any primal user now that we have a signer.
I have a laundry list of little things i want to change in the meantime before primal turns in to an unrecognizable beautiful app. Maybe give it another month until i can just push code to main? 😂 😂
All this stuff is super empowering (and ridiculously addicting). I feel like i can relate to developers a little more and I understand how it can be super fun.
Posting publicly so we'll make these changes or something similar sooner rather than later.
and btw THE PRIMAL TEAM IS COOKING.

1. anybody can write an article. it's just hidden in the ux. click "reads" on the web app, then my articles, then new article. need to fix this. you're not the only one who hasn't seen this.
2. have you checked out our advanced search tool? pretty much can make your own algos. we're cooking more ideas with this. yes, people love algos no matter hjow much they hate on them
3. ya would be great. there will def be a market for that, probably small now.
4. good ideas. like gigi says, proof of work + web of trust eliminate many of the bots. nostr is uniquely suited to handle that well.
5. I primal just built something like this. Check out the remote login video i made on primals page. also check out Keychat

we didn't capitalize on the various times we've had momentum. it'll swing around again, but it's hard to manufacture it. some tweaks in the app will help bigtime.
will be interesting to see if you're still posting on upscrolled in a couple months or if it's just a hypewave. it's literally just another trust me bro freespeech app with a ceo that people are aligned with. would be rad if they built this on nostr without saying it.
