By the way, Amethyst (or any other client, I guess) can provide to any npub a shadow ban. Easily. Relays will eat your events, but clients won't show it to anyone.
For example that's how Amethyst spam filter is working - blocking npubs without your participation, automatically. Default settings. Read the thread:

The same about relays' spam filters. I think it may mark any account as a spam at some point and stop delivering content to other users. Maybe not all of them at the same time, but it is possible.

Society is divided.
For years we have been taught to tolerate and agree with all decisions of the state. Now people are being jailed for saying they disagree. Nobody knows where the truth is or it is only propaganda everywhere.
Humanity no longer has common goals, and even global problems are successfully contested at the level of (sometimes stupid) conspiracy theories.
War, murder and violence are perceived as ordinary events, and few will comply with the demands of the state in the event of a new pandemic.

Yes, when you come across content that bothers you, or upsets you, or makes you angry, or scares you, you want to exit the application and not enter it again. But fortunately most people are not (very) bad and they want the attention of the majority just like them.
Therefore, it’s easier not to look into Global and block/mute the bad ones, and the impressions from unmoderated Nostr shall be even more pleasant than from moderated Twitter or Facebook.

What if protect the change of LN address by linking it with NIP-05? If your keys are stolen, you transfer NIP-05 to another account, and the old one becomes almost useless (impersonating only) without the ability to change the address for zaps.
With Bitcoin wallets we are changing private keys whenever we want. In this case, if devs introduce some mechanism for freezing compromised accounts in terms of payments, changing the keys only threatens the loss of subscribers and old publications.

I don’t understand why so many people here think that using #Nostr is difficult. Getting a couple of npub/nsec (which can be explained as a couple login-password) and installing the client is not much different from any service with registration. And then, on the advice of #nostriches, install a LN wallet with an LN address (like email) and save it in your profile - what could be simpler?

You're talking about mainstream adoption. With growing adoption will come attention from governments. Children are an active internet users. Theoretically they might be interested in Nostr, for example, in the donation mechanism. Laws are protecting children. Nostr community can't ignore the problem of shocking content just because it's parents' task. Because it's government's task too. At least parents expect the state to do this. Eventually relays will be blocked in developed tolerance-oriented countries and no mass adoption on the board anymore.

Maybe I misunderstood, but @npub1aeh…4nwx removed mostr relay in his client only for himself and did not propose to completely cut off (for example) the fediverse from Nostr...
And I’m not rooting for centralized subjective censorship, but imo everyone decides for themselves what content they want to see and what to afraid of. For example, I don’t read global feed at all. And mute every npub I don't like.
But how to protect children from shocking content and whether this should be done is a more important question.

Ну это для истории больше. Мне интересно развитие всего, что мы здесь наблюдаем. И как развиваются техники вовлечения аудитории, осуществляются попытки её монетизации несмотря на отсутствие единых алгоритмов и открытость/децентрализацию протокола. Спам и информационные атаки тоже часть этого процесса. Скриншоты не про содержимое сообщений, я даже не вчитывался в них, а про суть нового явления: спам за 1 сатоши. Это возможно только в Ностре на данный момент, потому и интересно.

Cool new photo editing tools for now is only for #Pixel 8 and 8 Pro.
The update is not impressive, but at first glance nothing was broken and my Pixel works fine.
