Yeah. I've got the max edition and now working until 2am and starting fresh at 8am became a routine.
Either way, produced more in a month than I'd be able to produce in 3 years and I'm an engineer writing code since almost 30 years.
Some things to complain, especially because the quality underneath the hood isn't that excellent for complex projects but you get to go so much further than with any other tools.

You are correct and such a drastic change wouldn't be feasible either.
What about if this is an optional feature?
Those with existing keys can continue using them, this would be optional and available for users that have benefit/need of key rotation.
Wouldn't impact existing users, wouldn't impact current way of nsec/npub. Would just state that npubABCDXYZ has authority to "expire" a key and define the successor.

This exact problem has been solved by email and PGP about 30 years ago.
Basically you generate a master key from which you derive service keys that you can eventually announce (using the master key signature) that they should no longer be trusted at some point.
This reduces exposure since only service keys are defacto used on NOSTR applications while the master key is ever so rarely used for retiring older service keys and announce a new one for that user.

Quite fancy with AI built-in but PlatformIO is the most advanced tech for these platforms and yet feels so bad.
I don't even dare doing unit tests but right now the code is hitting a portion where it is not possible to see on the hardware if things are working well, so a unit test is needed to validate stability but heck, been here for two hours to get it running.

Cheap 20 EUR walkie talkies are not meant for 24/7 data communication.
If we want build a world without internet nor IP addresses, these cheap walkie talkies will have to perform just on those harsh conditions.
Since last night that it has become possible to send text messages on a web browser through radio, using the speaker and microphone built into the smartphone/laptop.
This means communications that belongs to you and the other people around. It is still early. Still missing to properly receive text messages on cheap walkie talkies too (quite hard), slowly we are getting there.
A true off-grid communication network without fancy hardware.

Works fantastic in Java.
Plus, the strong typing keeps really fast to check on the IDE if the code is at least compiling without syntax issues.
It isn't easy at all to navigate complex javascript no go projects when the IDE support is like something from the 2000's for those languages when compared to Netbeans on Java.

NOSTR is guaranteed, the communication underneath is using the same protocol. Meshtastic need to study deeper, have the impression they don't have public chat rooms but could be wrong (will check). Bitchat is open and also using coordinates, so integration should be possible.

Geogram is a platform for sending and receiving messages between radios and internet users.
This means it can be used with or without internet, preserving the privacy of users. The beta testing chat group is today hosted at https://t.me/geogram and you're welcome to join to follow the news and provide feedback.
The webapp is located at https://geogram.radio and permits to see the radio stations available on the last 24 hours to send and receive messages.
For the moment the option to send/read messages is still not included there because the UI is being finalized. Over the next month should be operational.

It is literally written otherwise in that foundational paper. That was never the intention (and I know because I was there), those are just modern excuses for something that is obviously broken.
Also, there was no majority hash power grabbed by someone albeit that entity claimed otherwise. AFAIK, it was proven false. Monero being attacked is a frequent occurence, better ask yourself why it is so persecuted by governments while that boomer coin is supported by them.

Please read something specific about that fedcoin:
Section 4. Proof-of-Work:
“The proof-of-work also solves the problem of determining representation in majority decision making. If the majority were based on one-IP-address-one-vote, it could be subverted... Proof-of-work is essentially one-CPU-one-vote. The majority decision is represented by the longest chain, which has the greatest proof-of-work effort invested in it.”
It is quitessencially PoW where that statement 1 CPU = 1 vote originated on the foundational white paper (CPU mining). At that time there was no way for Kleiman (satoshi) to imagine that ASIC would one day be used to subvert his NSa-funded coin.
Monero fixed that. Up to this day remains 1 CPU = 1 VOTE there. No excuses. No semantics. No ASIC.

I didn't knew the project so listened to the video you sent (thanks for that). Was listening to the explanation but some things I wasn't understanding and didn't made much sense. He mentions doing it differently from I2P and Tor but then the explanation is very unclear.
For example, claiming to be able of mimicking the SSL certificates (?) and it wasn't clear how the DNS would really work. The second thing to grab attention is mentioning non-private virtual coins as paying method for something that should be private.
Then I was looking for the software to try out, but there was none to be found it seems. Which is odd, because typically you make available at least one prototype so that the spec is confirmed as working on the real world.

It seems AI was writing the initial draft and indeed wasn't tested in reality.

Main points:
1) Huge majority of nodes are owned and operated by intelligence agencies. Nodes not operated by agencies are actively suppressed (another case this week was reported). That "node hoping" feature is pointless when you control enough nodes and apply timing monitoring on the "anonymous" requests.
2) the connection mode of Tor is seriously outdated and flawed. Establishes a single path using "best speed" which makes it easier to monitor the traffic. Even if they wouldn't know the content (which they do), they know your IP address and which sites you are visiting
People tend to say "https" keeps communications safe. But they forget that on government level you can legitimately spoof certificates and reroute your traffic using MITM when your IP is interesting enough for them.
3) Multiple leaked documents from agencies show their investment on these topics. This was literally created and is funded by them every year (even Wikipedia details that), why wouldn't they track users?
In essence: it is a glorified government VPN. There exist better options such as I2P and yet you will see federal employees actively promoting Tor around here, along with naive developers/users who don't really know anything better.

Privacy.
Tor is an overglorified government VPN. where a path from your computer is created through a few nodes and data flows on both sides.
This means that having a few nodes monitored gives good access to what you are doing through browser fingerprinting and other techniques.
I2P breaks the data into multiple pieces and each follows a different random path, which then gets changed again. The return path is not the same either, also changes.
So the effort of monitoring I2P is exponentially higher and exponentially more difficult to assemble the original data. Last but not least, I2P is mostly used for custom app communication and not for general web access. Which means that the usual browser fingerprinting exploits are even more reduced.
Whenever someone talks in defense of TOR: they are either naive, boomers or government employees, which are also the same dumbass crowd supporting "bitcoin".

One of my professional titles at some time was "Chief Expert for Open Source" for a very, very large company, so a few people tend to think I know a few things.
Nobody here will check the AOSP source code. Look at the malware injected on NPM packages that was exposed this week: it went for a long time without being noticed. You won't check either the code for that suspicious distro, so all we are left is "trust".
I won't go further to try convincing you of my perspective and I don't really care enough to look into their code to find vulnerabilities which would only be downplayed after exposed.
The red flags are there (compromised hardware, suspicious funding). My time is better used supporting alternatives without such red flags.
Is it really worth to promote (for free) such dodgy projects?

I do respect your opinion because you are someone on the ropes. To clarify, a few coins being issued per year isn't "infinite", same way as gold isn't devaluing because it is "infinite".
Bitcoin was only used for drugs and illicit things. It isn't anymore because that business moved to Monero a long time ago.
Criminals also use turbo V8 engines in their cars to outpace the authorities, it just means that they are ahead of others in getting benefit from technology.

I'm now writing https://geogram.radio where the server is also Java, same for the Android app because it helps people to stay in contact without internet. NOSTR is used for authentication and message exchange.
Will later add there what nostrium was doing. Text interfaces are more useful on low bandwidth communications such as radio, so the BBS will live there.

All data in transit is encrypted.
AFAIK there is no storage of third-party data for node operators, nor way to know what is transmitted within I2P.
In the western world you are legally permitted to transmit encrypted data without legal obligation to monitor what is inside. There are attempts to change that situation as seen in the EU this week.
This doesn't mean you can't be personally targeted, governments do that often to just about anyone.

Because you are facing chinese farms with dedicated ASIC miners, basically less probability than winning the lottery with a tiny hardware setup.
It is more efficient to use Nicehash to automatically mine whatever virtual coin is more profitable that day and then convert the gains into your favorite currency. This is a better usage for your GPU.
Gupax pays a bit of monero every single day and only uses the CPU.

Just for info, I was mining bitcoin with CPUs before that fedcoin even had a price on it. Most of my profit at the time was daytrading stocks with bots, so I also lost and won quite a bit more than the average.
Please don't contribute to BTC.
It is singlehandedly killing the reason why crypto currencies were created and turning them into nothing more than speculative stocks that are regulated and monitored by governments. Experiments with long distance text messages for geogram continue forward.
Was possible to receive text messages for about 3 minutes. The max distance reached 1700 km between Spain and Germany.
At the end of October the first prototypes and usable apps should become available. NOSTR is used behind the scenes, so you can login with the usual browser extension.

Using Google™ hardware is an immediate loss of privacy and puts you up a few notches for agencies to pay more attention to what to do.
Between using a no-name hardware from China or something from Google, the first option will always be better because both devices are from China anyways.
You might as well just be spied from eastern agencies rather than adding western agencies too.
