Regarding older than..., I started my privacy journey way before the internet. Look up Robert Ringer. He advised to never associate your name with any real estate you own, especially your primary residence. Difficult & can be expensive but worth it.

Ditto, thanks for the affirmation! 1 yr ago i decided against @strike account because i thought it might end in the horror story you described. @strike is not transparent. could not get details re their KYC policy without giving KYC info. No human contact/support, just like faceless fiat institutions.
Check out river.com -a different animal but much more transparent & customer oriented - i have no affiliation or experience with river but their web site has gobs of good info. only other options are cash.app for payments or @sqaure for point of sale (POS) stuff but these are pretty hi fee.
The bitcoin influencers keep up the "we are winning" mantra but i have my doubts. The only people winning are those bending the knee to the KYC tyrants.

KYC required for primal wallet stops me from "using bitcoin and nostr" together.
Not trying to be an a-hole, but just figured out why i can't activate my primal wallet. Also, while searching for info regarding primal wallet, a lotta posts indicate users are not even aware they're KYC'd. Maybe (hopefully) they're nubees, but it does seem to me that primal is not very transparent regarding KYC info.
Still admire your work and dedication, from a wannabee ride or die freak.

Air Conditioning, New Car Warranty learning experience. 2 months after purchasing a 2021 Hyundai Palisade the AC quit while driving thru Barstow CA in 100+ Deg August heat. Fuming all weekend that Hyundai sold me a lemon I drove it to the dealer before they opened on Monday morning. Parked in the service lane & soon other cars started lining up. Opening time & one of the technicians started pulling in cars that must have had pre-scheduled appointments. I was first in the service lane & the tech just ignored me standing next to my car each time he walked by to pull in another car.
Controlling my frustration I waited patiently. Finally my presence was acknowledged & was told they were very busy but could probably look at my car later this morning. After a couple hours they pulled it in. Another hour and the service guy came out & explained calmly that the AC repair is not under warranty because the problem is a road hazard issue. A metal projectile had somehow made it thru the front grill and punctured a hole in the AC condenser causing all the fluid to drain. He showed me the projectile & hole in the condenser.
Lessons learned; 1) can't lay blame until you know the facts 2) gratitude to the designers that place the AC condenser in front of the radiator, sacrificing the AC system before the cooling system. 3) glad to have kept my cool while fuming with the assumption that Hyundai was to blame for selling me a lemon. Final lesson, over four years old & the Palisade has proven to be the best vehicle I've owned.

a quick glance @ the 1st line in jack’s post & i thought this was a Public Service Announcement telling us to get off our phones and strike up a real conversation with a real person around me.
this clicked open the thought of an AI app for introverts. Voice input their immediate situation, where they are, who is around, what's the function, venue...etc. The app will give him/her the perfect opening line to start a human to human conversation.
realizing that for this to work as intended there must be an all caps, bold message "TURN THE PHONE OFF AND PUT IT AWAY BEFORE YOU BEGIN YOUR CONVERSATION. I thought, wow this app could really help save civilization.
then i thought how ironic and impossible the app is. An AI app to get humans to act like humans. The final picture came into my human brain. Two humans speaking to each other, looking only at their phones in hand. We are doomed, AI agents using humans as their communication channel.
