Emacs client is coming along. Keeping it simple and learning a lot about #nostr along the way.
Not really happy with any of the desktop or browser clients at the moment, so I'm looking forward to eating my own dogfood for a bit till I realize it's crap and that I don't know how to write usable programs.

This sounds pretty interesting. Would like to hear more.
I've had the idea that programming streamers could give more incentive to contribute to their project and then the best contributors end up working for the streamer. Streamer uses clout to gain users and attention from investors. The streaming also helps for transparency and logging of why stuff was done.
My only worry is that the viewers who have the time to invest in watching hours of streams aren't skilled enough in the first place.

Started working on a #nostr client for #emacs. It's really wonky still, but I got notes and metadata loading. Can create and reply to notes too.
I want it to look like gnus or RSS and not doomscroll-able.
I struggle-coded it by asking AI to explain nuances of the protocol to me and then had to go and read the NIPs anyway.

Been thinking about #nostr key security. Considered porting lnbits signer firmware to a more modern device, then decided it would be clunky and unusable on mobile.
My preference would be either a yubikey form factor device with usb-c to plugin on mobile or (less secure but more convenient) some proximity Bluetooth device that signs automatically as you fire events at it.

Why would I use Bitkey when I could just make 5 DIY Blockstream Jade devices for the same price, running on one of the most popular chips (esp32) with ease and has a non-complex codebase? Works fully with any popular wallets and the Blockstream services.
It's nice that Bitkey open sourced all the software, but until there's a major support for a DIY device where you can source hardware easily and anywhere in the world.
