Yes, NWC can be used for any app.
It uses Nostr as backend for communication between the wallet and app, but the user does not need to have Nostr keys to use it

One of the greatest lightning wallets @nprofile…zjpe lately allowed us to connect any NWC wallet to use it on mobile within Zeus 😎
But they're not stopping. Seems like built-in Zeus wallet will also gain superpowers of connecting into other apps in the future 👀

No, it goes through Nostr relay, which can be set to whatever relay the wallet (or app in cases app initiates it) chooses.

LNC works only with LND and very little apps support it, it's also hard to work with.
NWC works with many wallets, apps and implementations and is stupid easy to work with. In my experience is also much more stable and faster than LNC, especially If you compare it with using LNC on Tor.
Pros for Zeus is any NWC wallet can be connected to Zeus
