Talking about Bitcoin in a specially left or right way just isn’t interesting to me anymore.
Bitcoin is for everyone. And I think Bitcoiners can unite around our opposition to authoritarians.
That goes above and beyond any left/right politics.
However I engage going forward will be in this spirit. Folks from all different backgrounds may resonate. I’m still a “leftie” maybe some can resonate with, but also may push back on some assumptions from that camp as well.
Same as I’ve always done. Just with more room and freedom to explore.

I’ll say more probably on the pod and reflect in writings going forward, but podcasting and doing it well is really fucking hard. Managing a full time demanding career and family while trying to do this with no budget or staff (besides amazing editor/producer) was just too much for me personally to sustain.
If it were at a place where it was my full time focus with funding, that’d be a different story, but that wasn’t in the cards.
Shoutout to the content creators and podcasters in bitcoin, because I know how hard and grueling it can be to try to put out your best work and content.

Ten31 invested in primal over a year ago, and primal (iOS) is consistently the slowest/just doesn’t work nostr social client I’ve used.
As a regularly shared/newbie go-to client, I’m curious how many it’s turned away just by not working. Not being able to cover the basics in over a year seems unacceptable, especially for a client taking in so much funding. I’m sure I’ll get hate on this, but whatever. Nostr is really fucking important (imo). Where are the standards for funding in this space?

I know many people want me to be “the progressive bitcoiner” guy to reach the left. I keep trying to stick it out, but I have to move on at the end of this year. I’m exhausted.
A huge segment of the left see “Bitcoin” and just aren’t here yet to get it.
I hope with rebooting money they’ll still be able to learn, and that it can even be a bigger thing and platform. I just can’t be “that guy” any more when I don’t believe and am quite repulsed by our current failed political, two party system in the U.S. Bitcoin is a paradigm shift, there’s no pretending it’s not.
Doesn’t mean rebooting money won’t be a place for mainstream, normal audiences! But I hope it can appeal to a wide audience, and not pretend to be steeped in current politics that are so petty and small and a huge distraction compared to what I hope for the future to be.

Here’s the thing: I’m also exhausted and tired of the old left right paradigm personally.
Also, the support to amplify the brand and message just hasn’t been there.
Rebooting money will still be a place for progressives and the left to learn about bitcoin. Will also be set up as a larger nonprofit. Bitcoin is a new paradigm that both the current left and right are failing at in the U.S. to actually bring about meaningful change.

A hard truth to swallow: technology has its limits.
By this I mean, while freedom technologies exist, governments, and corporations in conjunction with governments, can also use technology to crackdown on what they deem as “illegal” in a given jurisdiction. Whether this is VPN, a slight gap in someone’s “private” online presence with Bitcoin or nostr, and beyond.
There will come a time for political resistance, nonviolent protest and resistance, and beyond, as activists did before us.
Good and evil must still be fought and confronted, technology won’t prevent this. But freedom tech combined with resistance is the only way forward, there’s no turning back now.
